Safety Planning & Relapse Prevention
Safety Planning & Relapse Prevention is where I sit beside you in the most honest parts of your struggle-thoughts of giving up, urges to self-harm, patterns you promised yourself you would never repeat-and together we build a map for staying as safe as possible. I have spent many years working with people who felt they had reached the end of their rope, and I bring that experience to this focused, practical work. In Crisis Safety Planning sessions, I help you name, without judgment, what crisis looks like for you: the thoughts, sensations, and behaviors that signal you are nearing a breaking point. From there, we design Emergency Coping Plans-clear, step-by-step actions you can take when distress spikes. These might include grounding tools, people to contact, phrases to tell yourself, and ways to make your environment safer in the moment.
Safety Plan Development and Personalized Safety Strategies go deeper than a form on paper. Together, we consider your living situation, relationships, access to means, spiritual beliefs, and past experiences with help. The result is a plan that feels realistic, personal, and usable on the worst days, not just the good ones.
Relapse Risk Assessment and Relapse Trigger Identification help you understand what tends to pull you back toward old habits, whether that is substance use, self-harm, disordered eating, or other patterns. Once those risks are clearer, Preventative Coping Strategies sessions focus on building new routines, skills, and supports that reduce the likelihood of sliding back into crisis.
My intention is not to control your choices, but to stand with you in your pain, honor your autonomy, and offer every tool I know so you can move toward safety, stability, and a future that feels worth staying for.
